Magic Mushroom spore syringe B+ Cubensis
To extend the shelf life of the Cubensis spores, keep the B+ 20 ml magic mushroom spore syringes dark and refrigerated (2-8°C).
Contents
- One 20 ml B+ spore solution is placed in a 20 ml syringe.
- 1x sterile needle
- 4x Alcohol prep/swap
How to Use the B+ Spore Syringe
A lever lock stopper at the needle’s end holds the B+ spore solution inside the syringe. With this lever lock stopper attached, it is easier to transport and store the B+ spore syringe.
Make sure to work as hygienic as possible. Wear a face mask and sterile gloves and/or disinfect your hands.
Hold the B+ spore syringe in front of you with the lever lock stopper pointing upwards. Remove the lever lock stopper by screwing it counterclockwise.
Take the needle out of the sterile package and screw it on the B+ spore syringe. Shake the spore syringe vigorously for ten seconds before you remove the protective cap from the needle.
To proceed from here, there are several methods to choose from:
The spore solution is dropped onto the substrate.
After having prepared your own substrate or cakes, you can drop the B+ spore solution directly from the syringe onto these.
Press the plunger slowly so that drops of spore solution will come out of the needle. Every drop that will be in contact with the substrate will be a potential mycelium growth point, so spread out these drops all over the substrate to evenly colonize the substrate with mycelium.
How many cakes can you make with a spore syringe?
One 20 cc/ml spore syringe can easily colonize 6 liters / 13 pints of substrate.
Injection through injection ports
This is almost identical to dropping the spore solution onto the substrate. Open the injection port by pulling back the port protection cap. Use an alcohol prep to sterilize the injection port entry.
Pierce the opening with the needle. Now drop the spore solution evenly over the substrate inside the spawn bag or grow box. Once you inject the B+ spore solution, take out the syringe and seal the injection port using the port protection cap.
Study spores and research using a microscope.
Seen from a scientific point of view, all Psilocybe cubensis are alike. But they do differ slightly in appearance and fruiting speed (phenotype). There are numerous Psilocybe cubensis that have different phenotypes.
These different cubensis are not considered subspecies but different strains. The B+ is a strain of Psilocybe cubensis.
The naked eye can see the differences in phenotype, but a microscope reveals the true beauty. The wondrous world of the spores.
Many of our customers are scientists or enthusiasts doing research on these differences in a homemade laboratory. After having prepared your microscope slide, drop some of the B+ spore solution on it.
Cover the specimen with a microscope cover glass. The best magnification for Psilocybe cubensis and Panaeolus cyanescens spore research is 1000x or higher.
We are using liquid culture growth medium with the spore syringe.
Add only a few ml (drops) of the B+ cubensis spores to a liquid culture growth medium. 1-2 ml of spores are enough, but add a few drops more, just to make sure. We recommend using the Liquid Culture vails, but we’d love to hear your feedback on your results with your own liquid culture.
How to store a syringe
Store the B+ spore syringe in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C, or 35°F and 46°F. The shelf life of the spore syringe is at least 12 months after they leave our warehouse.
